Summary
BLE mobile credentials allow a user to use an iPhone as a Bluetooth-based access credential.
After the BLE credential is issued in OnCAFE, the user must activate the Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) mobile pass from the OnCAFE mobile app before it can be used at supported BLE readers.
This article provides instructions for claiming a BLE mobile credential on iPhone.
Prerequisites
Before claiming a BLE mobile credential on iPhone:
- The user must have the OnCAFE mobile app installed.
- The user must be able to log in to the OnCAFE mobile app.
- The credential must be within the configured activation date range.
- Bluetooth must be enabled on the iPhone.
- The identity should already be assigned the correct Access levels or Cardholder groups in OnCAFE.
- The site must have supported BLE readers installed and configured.
Claiming a BLE Mobile Credential on iPhone
To claim a BLE mobile credential on iPhone:
- Open the OnCAFE mobile app on the iPhone.
- (If prompted) Log in to the OnCAFE mobile app using the account associated with the issued credential.
- From the bottom navigation menu, click Profile > Mobile Passes.
- Locate the pending Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) credential.
The credential may display the following information:
Pending Activation
Wavelynx MyPass (BLE)
BLE / Bluetooth icon
Start date
Credential ID, if available
- If the pass does not appear under Mobile Passes, verify the credential was issued to the correct identity and user account.
- Select the pending Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) credential.
On the WaveLynx Pass activation screen, click Activate Pass.
Wait while the BLE credential activates.IMPORTANT: This step must be completed before the BLE credential can be used.- Confirm the status changes to Active.
- Confirm the message displays that the Mobile Pass is active and ready.
- Return to the Mobile Passes page.
- Confirm the Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) credential displays as Active.
The Disable BLE option may display after activation. Use this option only if BLE access needs to be disabled for the mobile pass.
Test the BLE credential at a supported BLE reader.
NOTE: BLE credentials do not need to be added to Apple Wallet. Bluetooth
must be enabled for the BLE credential to function at supported readers.
Access is granted only if the credential is active and the identity has
valid access permissions assigned.
