Summary

BLE mobile credentials allow a user to use an Android device as a Bluetooth-based access credential.

After the BLE credential is issued in OnCAFE, the user must activate the Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) mobile pass from the OnCAFE mobile app before it can be used at supported BLE readers.

This article provides instructions for claiming a BLE mobile credential on Android.

Prerequisites

Before claiming a BLE mobile credential on Android:

• The user must have the OnCAFE mobile app installed.
   
• A Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) credential must already be issued to the identity in OnCAFE.
   
• The credential must be within the configured activation date range.
   
• Bluetooth must be enabled on the Android device.
   
• The identity should already be assigned the correct Access levels or Cardholder groups in OnCAFE.
   
• The site must have supported BLE readers installed and configured.

Claiming a BLE Mobile Credential on Android

To claim a BLE mobile credential on Android:

1. Open the OnCAFE mobile app on the Android device.
    
2. (If prompted) Log in to the OnCAFE mobile app using the account associated with the issued credential.
    
3. From the bottom navigation menu, click Profile > Mobile Passes.
   
   
    
4. Locate the pending Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) credential. 
   
   The credential may display the following information: 
   Pending activation 
   Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) 
   Created date
    
5. If the pass does not appear under Mobile Passes, verify that the credential was issued to the correct identity and user account.
    
6. Select the pending Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) credential.
   
   
    

7. On the mobile pass activation screen, click Activate Pass. 
   
   
   
   Wait while the BLE credential activates.

   IMPORTANT: This step must be completed before the BLE credential can be used.
   

8. Confirm the success message displays Your Mobile Pass is active and ready to use
   
   
    
9. Return to the Mobile Passes page.
    
10. Confirm the Wavelynx MyPass (BLE) credential displays as Active. 
    
    
    
    The Disable BLE option may display after activation. Use this option only if BLE access needs to be disabled for the mobile pass.
     

11. Test the BLE credential at a supported BLE reader.

    NOTE: BLE credentials do not need to be added to Google Wallet. Bluetooth 
    must be enabled for the BLE credential to function at supported readers. 
    Confirm access is granted or denied as expected. Confirm the access event 
    appears correctly in OnCAFE. Access is granted only if the credential is 
    active and the identity has valid access permissions assigned.
