Applies to: NOP-IC2 / Azure IC2 Controllers
Summary
The NOP-IC2 controller firmware can be updated locally through the controller’s CloudConnector web interface. This method is used when firmware must be applied directly to the controller instead of using the OnCAFE Cloud update workflow.
This article explains how to access the controller through its hostname, bypass the browser certificate warning, log in to CloudConnector, and upload the firmware .tar file.
Prerequisites
Before updating firmware through CloudConnector:
- The controller must be powered on and connected to the same network as the computer being used.
- The controller must be reachable by hostname or IP address.
- The firmware file must be available in .tar format.
- Do NOT power off, disconnect, or reboot the controller while the firmware update is in progress.
NOTE: If the firmware was downloaded from the Hanwha Vision website as a .zip file, extract the ZIP folder and repackage the required firmware files into a .tar file
before uploading.
Accessing the Controller Cloud Connector
To access the IC2 controller:
- Open a web browser.
- Enter the controller hostname in the address bar using the following format:
https://IC2-<Last 6 of MAC Address>
Example: https://IC2-016878
NOTE: If the browser displays a privacy or certificate warning, select Advanced.Select Proceed to IC2-XXXXXX (unsafe).
NOTE: This warning may appear because the controller uses a local/self-signed certificate; it is expected when accessing the controller directly on the local network.- When prompted, sign in to the controller.
- Enter the controller login credentials:
Username: admin
Password: <Controller Configured Password> (Password configured during initialization).
Updating Firmware Through CloudConnector
To update the firmware:
- After logging in, confirm that the CloudConnector page loads.
- From the left-side navigation menu, select System (
).
- Locate the Firmware section and review the currently installed firmware.
- Under Firmware upgrade, select Choose File or the three-dot menu.
- Browse to and select the firmware .tar file.
- Confirm the selected file appears beside Choose File.
- Click Upgrade.
Wait for the firmware upgrade process to complete.
IMPORTANT: Do not power off the controller, disconnect network, refresh the browser, or close the update page while the firmware is being applied.- After the update completes, allow the controller time to reboot or restart services, if required.
- Log back in to CloudConnector.
- Navigate to System.
- Confirm the firmware version has updated and that CloudConnector and controller communication have returned to normal.
