Applies to: Entity Points configured with OnCAFE
Summary
This article provides instructions for enabling and configuring Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on Entity Points (such as doors, elevators, and other access-controlled points) within OnCAFE.
Prerequisites
- Administrative/Advanced Role access to OnCAFE
- Target Entity Point (e.g., door) must already be created and assigned to a controller
- Reader(s) configured on the Entity Point
Applying MFA to Entity Points
To apply MFA to Entity Points:
- Log in to OnCAFE.
- From the navigation bar on the left, click Devices > Doors or Elevators.
- From the list, locate and select the name of the target Entity Point (e.g., a specific door).
- Confirm the Profile fields are correctly set.
- From the navigation bar on the left, click Configuration.
- Verify that the correct Controller and Reader(s) are assigned to the entity then toggle the Has Keypad option to ON.
- Ensure reader wiring and configuration are functional.
-
From the navigation bar on the left, click Schedule.
Defining a door schedule is a requirement. If no schedule is applied, the door remains locked 24/7 without MFA.
- Click Set schedule.
- In the Door Schedules section, toggle MFA Required to ON.
-
Select the side(s) of the reader where MFA is enforced:
MFA for Reader on Side A
MFA for Reader on Side B
MFA can be applied per reader side, giving flexibility for entry vs. exit scenarios.
- Click Save.
The Entity Point now requires MFA when accessed via the configured reader(s).
