Summary
This article provides instructions for creating and configuring a new elevator in the OnCAFE system, including assigning a controller, adding floors, selecting readers, and applying schedules.
Creating an Elevator
To create an elevator:
- Log in to OnCAFE.
- In the navigation bar on the left, select Devices > Elevators.
- Click Create Elevator.
- Enter the new elevator’s Name (required) and Description (optional).
- Select the elevator’s location from the Location drop-down menu.
- Click Next.
The Edit Elevator section is displayed.
Configuring an Elevator
To configure an elevator:
- In the Edit Elevator section, select a compatible controller from the Controller drop-down menu (e.g., Azure Alpha IC2), then select the Panel and Reader.
A live preview of your Elevator Card appears on the right side. Zoom out to see the entire image.
NOTE: Unsupported controllers are labeled Not Compatible. - Select the desired reader associated with the selected controller or panels. If the reader has a keypad enabling pin input, switch the Has Keypad toggle to ON.
- Click Set Up Floors.
- To enter your building’s floor layout, select Total Floors, Ground Floor Designation, and Which Level is Ground Floor? (if applicable).
- Preview then click Create Floor.
You can also click Add Floor to manually configure each floor.
NOTE: Inputs/Outputs can be assigned to any available I/O Available
that is associated with Intelligent Controllers & Panels. - Click Next.
- Click Add Cameras to add a Cab Camera. You can associate up to one cab camera per elevator.
- Select an integrated 3rd Party associated camera.
- Click Next.
- Select a Security Template or customize the following:
Standard Grant Time and Extended time (for button activation)
Multi-Factor Authentication if keypad-enabled.
A warning will display if keypad hardware is not detected.
Maintenance Mode Behavior (Secure or Unsecure)
- In the Elevator Schedules section, click Set Schedule.
- Select a calendar view (weekly or always) then check the boxes next to the selected floor (or Select All).
- Click Confirm > Save to complete the elevator configuration.
The elevator is now active in the system and ready to be applied to Access Levels.
Administrators / Advanced Level Users can now control user access to specific floors through Identity Management and Access Group assignments.
