Summary
Schedules are used to define specific time windows for access permissions, door unlock states, alerts, and automated behaviors. Properly configured schedules enable granular control over when system features are enabled or restricted. This article outlines how to create a new schedule manually or using AI-assisted prompts.
Creating a Schedule
To create a schedule in OnCAFE:
- Log in to OnCAFE.
- Select System Management > Schedules > Create Schedule.
- Select either Create Manually and Generate With AI.
Creating a Schedule Manually
Creating a schedule manually enables the user to define the time ranges for each day of the week individually.
To create a schedule manually:
- Select Create Manually.
- Complete the following fields:
Name - Descriptive label (e.g., Work Hours, After Hours)
Format - Typically set to Weekly
Days & Time - Select applicable days and define Start / End Times

Check the boxes for applicable weekdays.
NOTE: 12:00 AM can be an end time. -
Use the Preview Pane to visualize the weekly schedule.
NOTE: Time discrepancies appear with a red box and cannot be saved.
- Click Save once all entries are complete.
Creating a Schedule with AI
Creating a schedule with AI uses natural-language input to auto-generate time blocks.
To create a schedule with AI:
- Select Generate with AI.
- Name the schedule.
- Enter a natural-language prompt describing the time range (e.g., “Create a schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday Saturday, and 10:00am to 7:00pm on Sunday.”).
- Click Generate to automatically build the time blocks.
- Review the result in the Preview Pane.
- Go to Create Manually to make any manual adjustments as needed.
- Click Save to confirm the schedule.
The schedule now appears in the Schedules list with a status of Active or Inactive depending on whether the schedule is being used.
