Summary

A key difference between Cloud Gateway Recorders (CGRs) and Cloud Gateway Appliances (CGAs) is how they store and manage camera recordings. This article covers configuring storage settings for both types.

Configuring Storage Settings

In this first example, a CGR camera is continuously recording to its CGR. The only options are to enable/disable recording and to enable Cloud Backup (up to one month). After toggling Enable Cloud Backup to ON,  you will have the option to specify what to back up and when.
 

In this second example, a CGA camera is recording to the cloud, with the only options being to select either 24/7 recording or events only. Toggle Enable Storage Backup ON to automatically replenish any gaps in the cloud recording due to a network outage.
