Applies to: BLAZE
Summary
This article explains how to manage co-existing desktop client versions, including force-launching and removing unused builds.
Installation Path
Windows
- %PROGRAMFILES%/Hanwha Vision/BLAZE client
- %PROGRAMFILES% = C:\Program Files (generally)
Mac
- Manual install (mount dmg): Applications folder
- Installation via client: ~/Library/Application Support/Hanwha Vision/BLAZE client
IMPORTANT: Running the latest version installed under Application Support,
will replace the version installed under the Application path.
First Run Version
Windows
- Run the most recent version installed.
Mac
- Run the version installed in the Applications folder, even if it is not the latest version.
VERSION MANAGEMENT NOTES:
Windows
Installation is possible if major.minor is not installed with the same version.
If the same major.minor version is installed, only a higher patch version
can be installed.
Mac
Manual install (mount dmg): No installation restrictions. Overwrites the
version installed in the Application path.
Installation via client: Same as Windows policy.
Common
When the desktop client runs, it automatically deletes all but the highest
patch version among the same major.minor versions.Force-Launching a Specific Version
To force-launch a specific version:
- Locate the installation path for each OS.
- Directly run the exe file (Windows) or app file (Mac) in that path.
Removing Unused Versions
You can manually delete version folders from the installation path, except for the following operating system-specific exceptions:
Windows
- If you delete the folder of the last installed version, the uninstall file will be deleted along with it, making it impossible to delete the program normally later.
Mac
- If you delete the version installed in the Application folder, the program's initial execution path will disappear.
