Summary
This article explains how to completely uninstall either BLAZE Server or BLAZE Desktop Client.
Prerequisite
Before performing a complete uninstall, create a backup of your BLAZE VMS system configuration:
- Open Setup.
- Select Backup & Restore > Backup Now
The backup retains all the licenses, software settings, users, and registered devices.
Uninstalling BLAZE Server
Windows
To uninstall BLAZE server (Windows):
- Navigate to Windows Control Panel > Settings > Programs and Features > Installed Apps
- Uninstall Hanwha Vision BLAZE VMS Server.
- Delete the following folder locations:
C:\Program Files\Hanwha Vision\BLAZE Server
C:\ProgramData\Hanwha Vision\BLAZE Server
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\BLAZE_control
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Hanwha Vision\BLAZE server
- Delete the following registry key:
HKEY_Users\<username>\Software\HanwhaVision\Blaze\System
Linux
To uninstall BLAZE server (Linux):
- Run the following command to uninstall the BLAZE Server software:
sudo apt remove blaze-server
- Remove any of the following files and folders that may remain:
/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/blaze_server.service
/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.targets.wants/BLAZE_CloudConnector.service /etc/systemd/system/blaze_server.service
/etc/systemd/system/BLAZE_CloudConnector.service
/Hanwha Vision/BLAZE server
/home/username/.config/AutoStart/BLAZE_control.desktop
- Delete the following:
/var/BLAZE
/etc/blaze_onboarding.flag
Delete Archive Data (Optional)
WARNING: Uninstalling the BLAZE Server does not remove archive data.Archive data is stored on every disk, depending on the environment:
- In Windows – C: thru Z:
Ex: [D]:\Hanwha Vision\BLAZE server\Archive\{system_uuid}/{server_uuid}
- In Linux – sda1 thru sdz9
Ex: /mnt/sd[a..z][1..9]/Hanwha\ Vision/BLAZE\ server/Archive/{system_uuid}/{server_uuid}/Hanwha Vision/BLAZE server/Archive
If required, go to the appropriate location for Windows or Linux and delete archive data manually.
Uninstalling BLAZE Desktop Client
Windows
To uninstall BLAZE Desktop Client (Windows):
- Navigate to Windows Control Panel > Settings > Programs and Features > Installed Apps
- Uninstall Hanwha Vision BLAZE VMS Client.
- Delete the following folder locations:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Hanwha Vision\BLAZE client
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Hanwha Vision\Blaze Onvif Compatibility Tool
C:\Program Files\Hanwha Vision\BLAZE client
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Hanwha Vision\BLAZE client
- Delete any snapshots or video export files saved by the client in the following default path:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\BLAZE media\Documents\BLAZE media
macOS
To uninstall BLAZE Desktop Client (macOS):
- Launch Finder.
- Click Applications from the menu options.
- Enter BLAZE in the Search box, then click the Plus (+) icon.
- Select Name > matches and enter BLAZE, then click the Plus (+) icon.
- Select System files > are included.
If System files is not an option, select Other > System files.
- Select all the files and drag them to the Trash.
- In Finder, press and hold the Alt/Option key, then select Go > Library.
- Click the List view menu button.
- Enter BLAZE in the Search box.
- Confirm Library is selected.
- Select all the files and drag them to the Trash, then empty the trash.
