Applies to: BLAZE Cloud
Summary
This article explains the differences between cloud login modes for System connection and Organization (Global or Federated) connection view.
Prerequisites
Log in to BLAZE desktop with your cloud account to access the System or Global login function. Depending on role access you may not have access to Organization settings.
System users see each System where they have an assigned role. Only Global user see the Organization view.
In the example below, users can select Connect next to each individual system to access it directly (blue arrow) or select the Organization arrow for federated access (red arrow)
Accessing a System Directly via Cloud
There are several reasons why you might want to connect directly to a System:
- You only need to see devices connected to that System or Site.
- You need to create a local or cloud based username to that System.
- You want to access all supported features including Object and Event searching or device management for connected devices. Most local features are supported while accessing the System directly through Cloud.
To access the System directly, locate it in the Connection list and select Connect. The list shows only systems where you have permissions
Accessing an Organization via Cloud
There are several reasons why you might want to connect at the Organization level:
- You want to access devices from across multiple systems in a cross system layout.
- You want to add or manage global users.
- You want to manage system users (make changes to existing users).
- You want to access other Federation features (coming soon).
