Summary
Hanwha Vision’s Similarity Search provides a more accurate way to discover appearances of the same person across multiple Wisenet 9 cameras, BLAZE appliances, and servers within a BLAZE system. This article describes how to configure Similarity Search.
Compliance
Before using Similarity Search, check with appropriate governing and regulatory bodies.
Similarity Search does not identify individuals and does not use facial recognition.
Similarity Search can use biometric information to improve accuracy. An administrator must enable this feature and accept the Biometric Information Terms of Use. Some regions may restrict or prohibit this feature, so you are advised to investigate any legal requirements.
Similarity Search can be enabled or disabled on specific cameras for more granular control.
Prerequisites
- Update the camera firmware to the latest version
- Update the WiseAI app bundled with the firmware to the latest version
- Add cameras to BLAZE and apply licenses if necessary
Configuring Similarity Search
To setup Similarity Search:
- Log in to BLAZE as a system administrator.
- Select Settings > Devices.
- From the displayed list, select the camera(s) where you want to enable Similarity Search.
- Navigate to Objects > BestShot.
-
Check the box next to Enable Similarity search.
Similarity Search is now enabled on the selected cameras.
Enabling Biometric Information (Optional)
To increase the performance of Similarity Search, you can enable the use of biometric information.
To enable biometric information:
- Navigate to Settings > General.
-
Check the box next to Use biometric information for Similarity search.
This step is audited to track the administrator who accepted the Biometric information terms of use.NOTE: The administrator can disable the use of biometric information
by unchecking the box. This will cause all biometric information
to be irreversibly deleted.
