Applies to: HealthPro
Summary
With HealthPro, you can update the firmware on devices automatically or manually. This article explains how to update the firmware.
NOTE: To update HealthPro Bridge software, see HealthPro Bridge - General: How do I update HealthPro Bridge software?
IMPORTANT: You cannot update firmware on the following devices:
Unlicensed devices - Attach a HealthPro license to enable firmware
updates.
WAVE Sync devices - HealthPro cannot update firmware on WAVE-attached
cameras. Consider using HealthPro Bridge in parallel.
Direct-to-Cloud devices - HealthPro cannot update firmware on cameras
running the CloudConnector app. Consider using HealthPro Bridge in
parallel, or managing the firmware using Cloud Portal.Updating the Firmware
You can update the firmware on devices in three ways: automatically, from the cloud, and from a computer.
Automatically
To schedule automatic firmware updates:
- In Cloud Portal, navigate to HealthPro.
- In the navigation panel on the left side of the screen, click the Policy management icon, then click Auto software update.
- Toggle Auto software update to On.
-
Set the following:
Choose day - What day to update the firmware.
Choose time - What time to update the firmware.
Update devices - Whether to update multiple devices in parallel or sequentially.
[0] Target device management - How many devices will be updated or not.
Remind me [ ] before updates - Select the checkbox to get notifications before firmware updates. Options are: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours from the Choose time drop-down menu.NOTE: The Remind me email sent to users before an update is sent according to
the automatic update schedule, regardless of whether the Immediate Update
feature in Target Device Management is enabled. This is important to avoid
confusion when the automatic update schedule overlaps with the immediate
update execution time. - If needed, edit the excluded devices list:
a. Click Target device management > Set devices excluded from application.
b. Check the boxes next to the device(s) to exclude, then click OK.
-
Click Apply.
NOTE: The Apply button only appears when you set the start and end time in the
Choose time section. If you change the update exclusion conditions after the update schedule has been set, the Apply button will be reactivated. You must click it again to save the changes.
NOTE: The number displayed when using Set devices excluded from application is
the sum of the filter options and is not related to the number of devices
excluded from updates. The number of devices excluded from updates can be
confirmed by activating the Excluded updated devices option and checking the
total number of devices displayed in the lower right corner.
From the Cloud
To update the firmware from Cloud:
- In Cloud Portal, navigate to HealthPro.
- In the navigation panel on the left side of the screen, click the Dashboard (
) icon.
- Navigate to the Update widget and click the number of updatable devices.
-
Click Update from cloud to see devices with firmware updates available.
NOTE: To update the firmware on WAVE Sync and Direct-to-Cloud devices, connect
them to HealthPro Bridge and ensure the licenses are attached to the devices.
For instructions on how to use HealthPro Bridge, refer to HealthPro Bridge -
Settings: How do I add multiple devices at once to the Hanwha Vision Cloud? - Check the box next to the device(s) to update.
- Select the Sequentially radio button to update devices sequentially; select the In parallel radio button to update devices in parallel.
- Click Update.
NOTE: Devices that are excluded from automatic updates still appear in the Updates
widget. However, these devices will not receive any updates. When you click an
update card in the Updates dashboard, the list of target devices will appear as
disabled (grayed out), and their current software version will be displayed in the Software column. For devices eligible for updates, the scheduled update time appears
in the Software column.
From a Computer
You may update a device’s firmware using a local copy of the file.
NOTE: For Hanwha camera firmware updates via HealthPro, we recommend using files
with the .img extension. If using a zip file, updates may occasionally fail due to
its internal directory structure. If this happens, manually update using the
unzipped .img file. Automatic updates may also fail for the same reason; in this
case, download the firmware from the Hanwha website, unzip it, and manually update
using the .img file.
To update from computer manually:
- In Cloud Portal, navigate to HealthPro.
- In the navigation panel on the left side of the screen, click the Dashboard (
) icon.
- Navigate to the Update widget and click the number of updatable devices.
- Click Update from computer to see devices with firmware updates available.
- Click Upload File.
- Click the Plus icon next to Firmware Update file from your computer and browse for the file, then click Add.
- Click Update firmware.
