Applies to: Arteco and Road AI LPR cameras
Issue Summary
A License Plate Recognition (LPR) camera is not functioning properly.
Prerequisite
Gather the following information from the LPR camera:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Firmware version
- LPR application version
Resolution
To troubleshoot the issue:
- Open Chrome, enter the IP Address of your device into the URL bar, and click Enter.
- Click the Gear icon.
- From the navigation menu on the left, select Open platform > Open platform.
- Click Go App to access the LPR application.
-
Review the license information to ensure it reads License key valid.
NOTE: This only applies to the Arteco LPR. Road AI does not require
a license key. - Verify the camera setup (FOV, ROI, license plate min/max size) follows the proper mounting instructions in the LPR Installation Manual.
-
Verify the camera calibration and detection area are configured to properly obtain license plate metadata.
IMPORTANT: The plate frame must encompass the entire license plate
so the camera can recognize the rectangular shape and the data inside
the frame.
In the above image, 8JAG291 has a 98% surety rating. This is the metadata of the plate that will be sent to WAVE or Hanwha NVRs.
- Ensure the accuracy is within the green zone and the pixel count is at least 25 or higher.
- Click the Monitoring tab.
- Select the Plate List radio button next to Live View Mode.
- Verify the camera UI is detecting the license plate as a JPEG image.
If the camera does not detect the license plate, repeat the previous steps and verify the configuration before continuing.
- Open a ticket (if not already open).
- Reply to the customer with a detailed issue summary, including the Technical Support Agent from the integrator (Arteco or FFgroup) and the unlisted manufacturer.
This way all parties are included in one ticket. - Follow up with all parties until the license plate recognition is functioning properly or is determined unsupported or faulty.
- Close the ticket.
