Summary
This article describes the steps involved in the Road AI application setup menu, as well as on the NVR setup menu to be able to receive generic events in the NVR.
Setup from the Camera Side
To set up from the camera side:
- Confirm that you have a compatible camera that is running the Wisenet Road AI Open platform application with the latest firmware.
- Firmware: PNO-A9081RLP / PNV-A9081RLP: 1.41.00_20210716_R140
PNB-A9001LP (PNB-A9091RLPH): 1.41.02_20221019_R150 - Wisenet Road AI app: V7.27.678.1045
- Firmware: PNO-A9081RLP / PNV-A9081RLP: 1.41.00_20210716_R140
- Confirm that the NVR has the latest firmware according to the respective model.
- Check the time and date, daylight savings, time zone, and NTP settings.
- Sync the camera’s clock to the NVR’s NTP server when enabled.
- Select Settings > Camera Webpage > Setup > Open Platform > Go App to define the NVR parameters:
- Enable NVR integration
- Enter NVR IP address
- Enter NVR text port (see next step)
- Save the settings.
NVR Setup
To set up the NVR:
- Confirm that the camera has been added to the NVR and live/playback video is accessible.
- Confirm that the time settings are correct and correspond to the same settings as the NVR (time zone, daylight savings, etc.).
- Enable the NTP server on the NVR and have the camera sync the clock with NTP.
- From the Setup menu, navigate to Device > Text.
Select the camera and define the port settings.
NOTE: The camera port settings must match with what you have defined on the
Road AI > NVR setup.- Device name: This can be any name that you would like to choose.
- Channel: This needs to be the correct NVR channel that you have added the Road AI LPR camera as.
- Port: This needs to be the same as you have defined in the Road AI > NVR settings. Make sure the ports are within the defined port numbers allowed at the in the NVR (1024 – 65535). By default the NVR starts with port 7001. Each entry and camera must have a unique port setting.
- Encoding: US-ASCII
- Device type: Select User Defined.
- Start and End: Enter the values as shown below:
- Save the settings by clicking OK on the popup AND Apply at bottom of the TEXT setup menu.
Searching for LPR Events
To search for LPR events:
- Define the time and date to search for events.
- At the defined search, you notice the events as shown below.
- Click on any events to see the video clip with the details of the vehicle identified.
Troubleshooting
If you are not getting any LPR events, confirm that your camera is connected to the network and that the NVR can receive video as well as camera-based events such as motion or simple line-crossing events.
NOTE: You may need to create and enable an event rule in the NVR.- If you are on a network with a firewall and router, your ports could be blocked. Run network diagnostics to ensure the IP address and ports defined are not blocked.
- Check the time and date, time zone, and daylight savings time settings for the camera and NVR. It is recommended to use NTP to sync the camera's clock to the NVR.
- If you still do not see any LPR events coming in to the NVR search, open the Road AI app web interface from a browser. Under the Events page, confirm that the plates are read and able to populate in the camera interface.
