Applies to: HealthPro Bridge
Issue Summary
When a device managed by HealthPro Bridge is replaced with a new device using the same IP address, HealthPro or Cloud Portal may continue to display the previous device information.
For example, the replacement device may still appear as Offline, or it may appear as Online while static device information, such as the MAC address, serial number, or model name, still shows the information of the device that was replaced.
This behavior can occur with devices directly connected to HealthPro Bridge and with sub-devices connected through WAVE or NVR. When a device is registered in Cloud Portal, its MAC address and serial number are used as unique device identifiers. These values are static identifiers and are not automatically updated when a different physical device is configured with the same IP address.
NOTE: Changing only the IP address assignment or replacing a device with another
device using the same IP address does not update the device identity information
already stored in Cloud Portal.
For WAVE or NVR sub-devices, the parent system may also retain the previous device mapping. In this case, HealthPro Bridge can receive the current stream or some updated status information from the new device while Cloud Portal still keeps the original device identity.
Resolution
To display the correct information for the replacement device, delete the existing device record first, and then add the replacement device again. This process is outlined below with two device types.
HealthPro Bridge directly connected devices
- Navigate to HealthPro > Settings > Devices > Cloud Portal.
- Select Devices > Manage to delete the existing device. See HealthPro - Settings: How to Remove Devices and Locations.
- Onboard the replacement device. See Adding Cameras in HealthPro Bridge - Settings: How do I use HealthPro Bridge?
- Verify that the replacement device shows the correct Online status, MAC address, serial number, and model name.
HealthPro Bridge WAVE / NVR sub-devices
- Navigate to HealthPro > Settings > Devices > Cloud Portal and delete the existing WAVE or NVR sub-device.
-
Navigate to Cloud Portal > Devices and delete the existing WAVE or NVR sub-device.
NOTE: If the old device remains in WAVE or NVR, remove it from WAVE or NVR
first so that the parent system does not keep the old device mapping. - In Cloud Portal > Devices, run Scan Network for the WAVE or NVR sub-device and add the replacement device again.
- Navigate to HealthPro > Settings > Devices > Cloud Portal and add or confirm the replacement device.
-
Verify that the replacement device shows the correct Online status, MAC address, serial number, model name, and health information.
IMPORTANT: If a replacement device using the same IP address is added before
the old offline device is deleted, Cloud Portal may keep the old device
information or a registration error may occur due to a device identifier
conflict. IMPORTANT: Always delete the existing device first, and then register the replacement device again.
