In an effort to maintain standards, Hanwha uses the web UI for all knowledge base
articles pertaining to product configuration. Open Chrome, enter the IP Address
of your device into the URL bar, and click Enter. If you are not using the web UI
to configure your device, please refer to the user manual for your product. Summary
Similarity Search enables you to quickly locate people or objects across multiple cameras using a natural language description or a Best Shot image.
This article explains how to configure BestShot on a supported IP camera and enable Similarity Search.

Configuring BestShot
To configure BestShot:
- Click the Gear icon.
- In the navigation panel on the left, click Analytics and select WiseAI.
- Click BestShot & Attributes.
- Select the channel (CH) to configure, then toggle BestShot/DetectionShot to ON.
- Click the BestShot tab and select the objects to detect (ex: Person, Face, Vehicle and License plate).
Repeat this step for all applicable channels.
- Click the Attributes tab and select the attributes to detect (Person, Face, Vehicle).
- On the right side of the page, review the Best Shot captures.
- Confirm the selected snapshots are acceptable.
Enabling Similarity Search
To enable Similarity Search:
- Log in to the Cloud Portal and click OnCloud.
- Click the Organization icon then select Organization Settings.
- Enable Use Biometric Information for Similarity Search, then click Save.

Click the Dashboard icon.

Under Locations, click Manage.
- Click the three-dot menu next to the organization where this feature should be activated, then select Edit.
- Toggle Use Biometric Information for Similarity Search to ON.
- Review the terms of use, then select both acknowledgment checkboxes.
- Click I Agree.
- In the navigation bar on the left, click the Search Events icon.
You should now see the Similarity Search () icon. This confirms the Similarity Search is successfully enabled and configured.
