Summary
Devices can be managed directly from the Map tab without switching to the Devices tab.
There are two ways to manage a device from the Map tab. This article describes how to manage a device from the Map tab.
NOTE: You can replace any device in the bucket, whether it is a specific model, a
dummy, or a generic camera, with a different model at any time, without deleting
and re-adding it.Changing a Model
To change a model:
- Log in to DesignPro.
- Click the model name directly in the bucket.
Open the three-dot menu in the bucket and select Change model.
NOTE: Alternatively, click on a device icon on the map to open the side Drawer properties of the device, then click Change model. The model selection panel opens, filtered to the same product category.
Select a new model and confirm.
IMPORTANT: Changing a model replaces all devices in the same bucket group at
once. There is no way to change a single device within a group independently. A confirmation prompt lists the settings that will be reset before you confirm
the change.
Changing from a Dummy or Generic Camera
When using Change model from the Drawer of a dummy or generic camera placed on the map, the model list is pre-filtered based on the camera's current field of view (FoV) settings:
- Normal type — filtered by H angle. If devices in the same group have different H angles, the widest angle in the group is used as the filter.
- Panoramic type — shows only Panoramic and Multi-directional models.
- Fisheye type — shows only Fisheye models.
If the model you want does not appear in the filtered results, close the panel, adjust the H angle on the map icon, then use Change model again.
Once a real model is assigned, the device is synced to the Devices tab and included in Project Requirements, Reports, and the Dashboard.
| Action | What is Removed | What Remains |
| Delete From map (Drawer) | Icon on the Map | Entry Stays in the bucket |
| Delete from Bucket (More Menu) | Bucket Entry + map icon | Nothing (fully removed) |
NOTE: FoV settings are not synced between the Map tab and the Devices tab. Adjusting
FoV on the map does not affect the device's FoV settings in the Devices tab, and
vice versa.
