Summary
The Global Profile feature allows users to save frequently used Video Profiles and reuse them across multiple projects. Instead of recreating the same profile settings from scratch for every new project, users can create a Global Profile once and import it into any project as needed.
This article describes how to manage Global Profiles in DesignPro.
Managing Global Profiles
For each Global Profile card, you can perform the following actions:
- Edit — Modify the profile's settings (Scene, Filter, FoV, etc.).
- Save — Save edits to the current Global Profile.
- Save As — Save the edited profile as a new Global Profile with a different name.
- If the maximum of 20 profiles has been reached, the Save As button is disabled.
- If the maximum of 20 profiles has been reached, the Save As button is disabled.
- Delete — Remove a Global Profile. The Default Global Profile cannot be deleted.
Importing a Global Profile
There are two ways to import a Global Profile into any project's Profile tab.
Option 1: Import from the Profile list
To import from the Profile list:
- Open the target project and navigate to Profiles > Device profile.
- Click Import.
- Select one Global Profile from the list that appears, then click OK.
Option 2: Import when creating a new profile
To import when creating a new profile:
- On the Profiles tab, click New to open the new profile creation screen.
- Click Import to import a Global Profile instead of creating one from scratch.
Select one Global Profile from the list, then click OK.
IMPORTANT: When importing via the New profile screen, any settings already
entered on that screen are discarded. The selected Global Profile is added
directly as a new Project Profile.Once imported, the Global Profile becomes an independent Project Profile. Changes made to the original Global Profile are not reflected in the imported Project Profile, and vice versa.
NOTE: If a profile with the same name already exists in the project, or if the same Global Profile is imported more than once, the suffix _1 is automatically appended to the name (e.g., Indoor_1).
Changing the Schedule after Import
Each Global Profile includes its own Schedule setting, which is embedded in the profile. When a Global Profile is imported into a project:
- The embedded schedule is applied to the imported Project Profile automatically.
- The embedded schedule does not appear in the project's Schedule list it is embedded within the profile only.
After import, you can change the schedule of the Project Profile to one of the project's existing schedules via the drop-down menu.
Once changed, the connection to the embedded Global Profile schedule is permanently severed and cannot be restored.
You can also edit the embedded schedule directly using Save As, which adds it to the project's schedule list and applies the new schedule.
IMPORTANT: Changing or replacing the global profile schedule is irreversible.
Re-import the Global Profile to restore it.
NOTE: Global Profiles are stored locally on the PC and are not included when a
project is exported or imported. When importing a project file on a different PC,
only the Global Profiles available on that PC can be used.
