Summary
The Software Update Plan (SUP) license extends the support period of a Premium license, which entitles you to software updates. The SUP is recommended if an organization prioritizes critical vulnerability and wants to stay up to date. Updated software includes new features, enhancements, bug fixes, and security fixes.
IMPORTANT: The SUP license key must match the number of channels in the existing
Premium license. If a system has multiple BLAZE license keys, it will need the same
number of SUP license keys.
If a SUP license is applied after the Premium license has expired, the new support end date is calculated based on the extension date. For example, if a 2027 license that expired in 2030 is extended in 2032 with a 3-year SUP license, the new support end date will be 2035.
Even if the extended license is deactivated and reactivated, the extended support end date remains unchanged.
In the following example, the customer wishes to have continuous support for their growing system.
- On Jan 1 2027 they install one server with 150 BLAZE licenses. The support for these ends Jan 1 2030.
- On Feb 2 2028 they add one server with 200 BLAZE licenses. The support for these ends Feb 2 2031.
- On Jan 1 2030 they discover that they are unable to update the system. They purchase and apply a SUP for 150 licenses. These will expire Jan 1 2033.
- On Feb 2 2031 they again discover that they are unable to update the system. They purchase and apply a SUP for 200 licenses. These will expire Feb 2 2034.
- Alternatively, they could purchase and apply both SUPs on any same date to synchronize the cycles.
Applying a SUP
To apply a SUP:
- Log in to BLAZE.

- Click Next.
- Confirm that the data is correct, and click Extend license key.
Expired Support Period
You can still update ‘up to’ any version that was released before the support period ended.
For example, if you activated the Premium license on March 16, 2026, you are always entitled to update to any version that was released prior to March 15, 2029, even if it is currently 2030. To update to a version released after March 15, 2029, add a SUP license.
