Applies to: BLAZE
Issue Summary
When upgrading, BLAZE Client keeps the previous version on your PC if the minor version is different. This ensures that you can use a BLAZE Client version that matches each server version when you use multiple servers.
On macOS, if multiple versions of BLAZE Client are installed, there can be issues accessing servers on the local network. This occurs because the macOS Local Network Privacy (LNP) system cannot distinguish between apps that share the same Bundle ID or server permissions. This article describes how to fix server connection issues with multiple clients on macOS.
Resolution
To change this setting:
- Select the Apple menu > System Settings (or System Preferences).
- Select Privacy & Security > Local Network.
- Toggle the switch off then on, for all versions of BLAZE in the list.
- Exit and restart BLAZE Client, then check whether the network operates normally.
For macOS Sequoia
There have been reports of issues with local network permissions for duplicate installed apps on recent macOS versions: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/256167084?sortBy=rank. To resolve this:
- Uninstall all versions of the problematic app (BLAZE Client).
- Restart the Mac.
-
Reinstall only the version needed.
NOTE: Alternatively, turning the firewall off and then back on in System
Settings > Network > Firewall may resolve the issue by refreshing the network
path.
