Issue Summary
Occasionally, the Semantic Search function does not work or fails to initialize. This issue typically stems from version mismatches, deactivated settings, or service synchronization failures between the Appliance and the Semantic Search App. This article describes how to resolve Semantic Search issues.
Resolution
If Semantic Search fails to respond:
- Verify the software status by navigating to Settings > Servers > Semantic Search. If the version number is not displayed, the application is missing.
- Direct the user to install the Semantic Search App.
If the app is installed but the feature is inactive:
- Verify the following four critical items:
- App Installed: Confirm the Semantic Search App is listed in the system.
- Feature Activation: Ensure the Enable Semantic Search toggle is switched ON.
- Camera Registration: Verify that the analysis camera is correctly registered and visible in the device list.
- Status Information: Confirm that the operational status is explicitly displayed as Active.
If the function stops working immediately after a firmware upgrade:
- Check for a updated Semantic Search App version that is compatible with the current firmware and perform an update if available.
NOTE: The existing app version may be incompatible with the new firmware. If all settings are confirmed correct but the feature still fails to execute:
- Use the Delete App function to completely remove the Semantic Search App.
- Reinstall the app. This clears corrupted cache or configuration files.
If the Semantic Search App fails to install entirely:
Collect all relevant system logs and submit a technical review request to the Development Team via the Customer Service Center.
