Applies to: BLAZE
Issue Summary
A BLAZE trial licenses cannot be added to a system that already has permanent (Premium) licenses, because they cannot coexist.
Example scenario: an installer licensed a server for 10 cameras and needs to add two more cameras but is still waiting for the additional permanent licenses to arrive.
This article describes a work-around to temporarily uninstall permanent keys, install trial licenses for up to 30 days, and then reapply permanent keys.
Resolution
To add trial licenses:
-
Determine the number of devices to license on the system, referred to as the license channel count.
NOTE: It is OK to overestimate how many you need. - Contact your Hanwha sales representative and request a trial license key for this channel count. This 30-day key will be emailed to you.
- Log in to BLAZE.
- Navigate to Settings > Licenses.
- Right-click each license key and select View license history.
- Click the Copy icon and keep a safe record of the key (it is 35 characters long).
- Repeat for all keys.
- Right-click each license key and select Deactivate license key.
- Repeat for all keys.
- Click Add license key and enter your (larger) trial license key.
- When the new permanent license key eventually arrives, navigate to Settings > Licenses, and re-add your old and new permanent license keys.
This step automatically removes the trial licenses.
