Summary

Profiles are used to segment the DesignPro camera database into smaller, more manageable groups that share common elements. Examples include classroom, hallway, warehouse, exterior perimeter or loading dock profiles.

Classroom profiles might use lower-resolution indoor cameras that record during school hours and at night when motion is detected. Loading dock profiles might record only when a truck is present or when motion is detected. 

This article describes how to create profiles in DesignPro.

Creating a Profile

To create a profile: 

1. Log in to DesignPro.
    
2. Select Profiles from the toolbar.
   
   
    
3. Click + New in the Device Profile tab.
    
4. Create a profile name that describes this profile.
   
   
    
5. Edit the camera profile, lighting condition, recoding duration, and recording schedule.
    

6. Click Filter to select which cameras will be available in this profile. 
   
   This could include certain series of cameras, indoor/outdoor, AI/Non AI, or camera type.

   NOTE: This creates a filter where only the included camera types are included 
   as an option in this profile.

   
    

7. Toggle the FoV button to further filter your cameras based on Horizontal field of view, Installation height, Target Distance, Tilt angle and Density of pixels per foot (ppf) at a specified distance.
   
   
    

   In this example, we have two new profiles based on different scene activity levels. 
   
   
    

8. Click the three-dot menu to select the default profile for all new cameras, or to clone it. Or click Default.

   NOTE: You can delete a profile as long as it is not in use by a camera.
