Summary

This article describes how to select a recorder for your DesignPro project.

Using the Recorders Menu

To use the recorders menu:

1. Select from BLAZE, WAVE, NVR, and DVR, unless you have an alternative recording platform, which you can include in Additionals.

   NOTE: Select only one type of recorder per project. A message appears if you 
   attempt to add recorders from different platforms.

   
   
   The Project requirements section of the Recorders menu lists what is needed to complete the requirements needed for each platform.

   
   
   Each section shows what is required to complete the project, including channels, bandwidth, storage, power, ports, and licenses. 

   If a section of requirements is not met, the In project portion appears in red.
   
   

Adding a Recorder

To add a recorder:

1. Hover over the recorder and click the + to add to the project.
   
   
   
   A window appears that displays the model, bandwidth capabilities, Operating System options, RAID options, and total HDD storage capacity options.
    
2. Click OK to add the recorder to your project.
   
   
    
3. Click OK to add the recorder to your project. Your recorder should now show in the Network Devices section of the Recorders tab. Recorders added to this section are now in your project.
   
   
4. To compare different recorder models, click the icon for each model to compare and then click the icon on the right side of the screen.
   
   A window with the data sheet comparison for the recorders you selected displays. You can also click the Differences Only checkbox on the right.
   
   
    
5. Click the icon to expand the device list to expose more recorder details.
   
   
    

6. Click the icon to collapse the expanded window.
    

   NOTE: Licenses can also be added from the Recorders tab. Licenses can be added 
   individually or using the Auto Licenses feature. Before adding licenses, the 
   Project requirements section will show no licenses.

7. To add licenses individually hover over the license and click the +.
   
   
   
   Your license should now appear in the Network Devices section of your project.
   
   
    
8. Click the enabled Auto licenses button to automatically add the correct number of licenses for your project.
   
   
    
9. Click OK to automatically add the correct number of licenses to your project. The Project requirements section now shows the correct number of licenses.
