Applies to: BLAZE Web Client v1.3
Summary
The timeline is a chronological record of the camera’s recording found at the bottom of the screen in the camera interface. This article explains how to review recorded video in the BLAZE Web Client using the timeline: navigating and zooming the timeline, reading the recording and event indicators, controlling playback, and jumping to a specific date and time.
Navigating the Timeline
To navigate the timeline:
- Use the mouse wheel over the timeline to zoom in or out, from seconds, minutes, hours, days and months based on recorded video availability.
- Hover over any point on the timeline to preview a quick snapshot of the video at that moment.
- Click Live at any time to return to the live stream.
- Use Show/Hide Timeline to collapse the timeline and give the video panel more screen space.
Reading the Timeline Indicators
To read the timeline indicators:
- Access the Objects panel by selecting the Objects icon on the top right corner of the page.
By default, the most recent objects are detected and displayed. For cameras that do not support Object Search, no object data is available.
When the Objects panel is closed, the timeline shows a single stream indicator, marking when the camera was recording its Primary streaming. Opening the Objects panel adds a second row of event indicators above the stream row, showing detected objects.
Access the Object page (full screen viewing) by selecting the Objects icon on the left navigation panel.
A list of objects appears automatically, sorted by most recent.
Controlling Playback
Available controls depend on whether playback is currently playing or paused:
- While playing: Pause, jump backward 5 minutes, or jump forward 5 minutes. Jumping moves directly to the new point on the timeline and continues playing.
- While paused: Move one frame backward, or move one frame forward.
- Playback speed can be adjusted using the speed control arrows.
- Use the audio slider to control volume for both live and recorded audio.
- Use the manual zoom sliders to adjust timeline zoom or use your mouse wheel to control.
Jumping to a Specific Date and Time
To jump to a specific date and time:
- Open the calendar control.
- Select a date. This version of the BLAZE Web Client supports a single date at a time.
- Select an hour and minute from the drop-down menu, and select AM or PM.
- Click OK to jump the timeline to that date and time.
- Use the month arrows on the calendar to navigate between months, or click Today as a shortcut back to the current date.
