Summary
Automatic image health check compares a camera’s current image with a stored reference image and flags issues such as moved angle, blocked view, or blur. Use it to proactively detect image problems and fix them before they impact operations.
You can configure Automatic image health check if you are a Super manager or Manager. Engineers cannot edit this feature in Policy Management.
This article explains how to use the Automatic image health check feature in HealthPro.
Devices Supported
- Licensed cameras connected via HealthPro Bridge (Hanwha and supported 3rd‑party including AXIS, iPRO, ONVIF).
- WAVE/NVR child cameras connected to HealthPro Bridge.
- Only the first channel of each camera is used; works independently of Thumbnail ON/OFF.
Not supported in this phase: Direct‑to‑Cloud (D2C) cameras.
Privacy Protection in HealthPro
- No image or video from checks is stored or played in the cloud; HealthPro shows text results only (for example: Tilted, Blocked, Blurred, Glared, Blacked).
- On the local HealthPro Bridge database, one reference image and the latest comparison image are stored in encrypted form.
The analysis focuses on scene changes and tries to ignore moving objects to reduce false alarms.
What does Automatic image health check detect?
- Tilted – Camera angle appears changed.
- Blocked – View is obstructed.
- Blurred – Image is out of focus or very blurry.
- Glared – Strong light/reflection degrades visibility.
- Blacked – Very dark or frozen‑like scene.
Enabling Automatic Image Health Check
To enable automatic image health check:
- Sign in to Cloud Portal.
- Select HealthPro.
- Select Policy Management > Auto image health check (BETA).
- Switch Auto image health check to ON.
- Configure Sensitivity, Schedule, Target device management, and (optional) Reminder email, then select Apply.
When first enabled, HealthPro creates a reference image for each selected camera to use for comparison.
Sensitivity Levels
- Low – Detects only large changes.
- Medium – Balanced detection.
- High – Detects even small changes.
Choose the level that best fits your environment; you can change it anytime.
Automatic Image Health Checks
Scheduling follows the same concept as Auto software update.
- Frequency: Select any day from Sunday to Saturday; multiple selections possible
- Start time: Set a start time; subsequent runs reuse this time according to the selected frequency.
- Time zone: Runs according to the Organization Location time zone.
Selecting which Cameras are Checked
To select which cameras are checked:
- Open Target device management within Auto image health check.
- In the Set devices excluded from application menu, set the devices to exclude from updates using filter conditions.
- Click Apply.
NOTE: Unsupported or excluded devices will be automatically excluded when running
the update.
NOTE: If some devices will not be checked, HealthPro can send a reminder email using
the existing Remind Me notification setting (same as Auto software updates). Manage
this in Settings > Notifications.
Where can I see the image health check results?
- Cameras list (dashboard): Shows problem states when detected.
- Camera details page: Shows the current status per camera.
Statuses may include Tilted, Blocked, Blurred, Glared, or Blacked. If no issue is detected, the camera is shown as healthy.
If Automatic image health check and Auto software update overlap, HealthPro saves snapshot and comparison progress, performs updates, then resumes checks from the saved state for affected cameras. This prevents data loss and lets both processes complete normally.
Resetting the Reference Image for a Single Camera
To reset the reference image for a single camera:
- Open the Camera details page.
-
Select Reset REF image from the action menu (⋯).
HealthPro captures the current live image as the new reference image (stored locally and encrypted on the Bridge).
NOTE: Alternatively, you can reset REF images in bulk through the REF image
menu in Target device management.IMPORTANT: Turning Automatic image health check OFF deletes its schedules,
target selections, and reference images. Image health information is no
longer shown on the camera list or camera details. A warning appears before
clearing settings. Turning it ON again requires reconfiguration and new
reference images.
