Summary
When you remotely update HealthPro Bridge (HPB), you can choose to verify the update package’s integrity before installation. Turning this option on helps prevent corrupted or tampered packages from being installed. Turning it off speeds up updates when you trust the source.
- Where: Policy management - Auto software update
- What it does: Validates the downloaded package (checksum/signature) before applying the update.
- Why use it: Reduces risk of failed boots, partial installs, or security issues caused by damaged files.
This article describes how to verify integrity during remote updates.
Verifying Integrity
Users with Policy management menu permissions (for example, Super manager and Manager roles) can enable/disable integrity verification during the HPB remote update flow.
To find the option:
- Sign in to Cloud Portal.
- Select HealthPro.
- Navigate to Policy management > Auto software update.
-
Locate the option Verify the integrity.
NOTE: If HPB updates continue to fail or you want faster updates, disable this
option. It is enabled by default.
Integrity Verification
After the package is downloaded to the device, HPB validates it (for example, by checking a cryptographic signature or checksum) before installation begins.
If the verification succeeds, the update proceeds as normal. If it fails, the update is blocked and an error is shown.
Verification adds a short time to the overall update but increases safety and reliability.
NOTE: If you disable integrity check, this step is skipped.
