Summary
The VMS/NVR recording status feature lets you quickly confirm whether your recording devices (WAVE and NVR) are recording normally from the Server dashboard.
- See device-level Record status (Enabled/Good, Disabled, Warning, Error, N/A, or Offline).
- Open server details to check channel-by-channel recording status.
- Export the Record column to CSV for review.
This article explains where to find the Record column and what each status means.
Supported Devices
Supported server types registered in HealthPro:
- WAVE Sync servers
- HPB‑WAVE servers
- Hanwha NVRs under HealthPro Bridge (HPB)
License behavior:
- WAVE Sync and HPB‑WAVE: HealthPro shows Record status regardless of HealthPro license.
- NVRs (under HPB): An NVR license is required in HealthPro. If no NVR license is applied, Record status shows as Disabled.
Other server types that do not provide recording information appear as N/A.
Where can I see the recording status?
- Server dashboard – Shows one Record status per device (column located to the right of Storage).
- Server details drawer – Click a server to view a channel-by-channel Record column.
Record is also included when you export the Server dashboard to CSV.
What do the Record statuses mean on the Server dashboard?
The Record column shows a single representative status per device:
- N/A (No information) – Device level: HealthPro cannot get recording info or the device does not support it (e.g., HealthPro Bridge itself).
- Disabled (Gray) – Device level: Storage not available/initialized, license missing/expired, or recording disabled on all recordable channels.
- Error (Red) – Device level: Storage (HDD) error detected, or recording error from the VMS/NVR.
- Warning (Yellow) – Channel-based: One or more recordable channels have recording disabled. Camera offline alone does not cause Warning if the channel is configured as enabled.
- Good (Green) – Channel-based: Storage healthy, required license attached, and recording enabled on all recordable channels.
- Offline / “–” (hyphen) – Device level: Device is offline; shown as “–” in the offline table.
NOTE: N/A, Disabled, Error, and Offline describe device-level conditions. Warning
and Good consider channel-level recording configuration.
When Record is Error or Warning, HealthPro automatically creates a Storage Issue event/task (e.g., storage error, recording error, or channels not recording).
Viewing Recording Status per Channel
To view the recording status:
- Open the Server dashboard.
- Click a WAVE Sync, HPB‑WAVE, or NVR device.
- In the details drawer, review the Record column for channels (CH1, CH2, CH3, …).
Channel statuses:
- N/A – Device-level state; channel count/details are not shown.
- Disabled (Gray) – Recording disabled for the channel; tooltip shows “Disabled.”
- Good (Enabled) (Green) – Recording enabled; tooltip shows recording type: Continuous, Event/Motion, Continuous & Event/Motion, or Unknown.
- Offline / “–” – Device is offline; channel count/details are not displayed.
How schedule affects channel status
Channel status follows the current VMS/NVR recording schedule:
- No active schedule now - Shown as Disabled.
- Active schedule now - Shown by configured mode: Continuous, Event/Motion, or Continuous & Event/Motion. Unknown if the mode cannot be identified.
HealthPro updates channel recording status regularly according to the VMS/NVR health metrics collection cycle.
How recording status is shown in CSV export
When you export the Server dashboard to CSV, the Record column is included as the last column (after Network). Values match the device-level Record status shown on the dashboard: N/A, Disabled, Error, Warning, Good, or “-” (offline).
