Summary
This article provides general troubleshooting tips for Avigilon.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Ensure the camera is on the same local network and not across VLANs or routed networks.
- If it is an older multi-sensor, before connecting to Avigilon, change Profile 1 MJPEG to H264 and lower the resolution to 1920x1080.
- The camera/device might not be supported by Avigilon, such as an NVR or the AIB-800 box.
- Ensure the camera is running the latest firmware version and Avigilon is updated.
- If the camera image quality is not the best, go to the camera’s web browser page and navigate to Basic > Video Profiles. Select Mobile and check the box next to Edge Recording. This will assign the profile for SD card recording, even if you are not using an SD card.
NOTE: Avigilon supports RTSP streams, but you need a license to connect a Hanwha
camera via RSTP. Alternatively, you can enable RTSP on the camera to connect without
using user credentials. For a single sensor RTSP://username:password@<ip-address>:554/profile<numberprofile>/media.smp example: rtsp://admin@hanwha01!@192.168.1.100:554/profile2/media.smp For a multi-sensor RTSP://username:password@<ip-address>:554/0(for sensor 0-3)/profile<numberprofile>/media.smp example: rtsp://admin@hanwha01!@192.168.1.100:554/0/profile2/media.smp
