Applies to: Avigilon
Issue Summary
When adding a device in Avigilon, you receive the following error:
Resolution
To resolve this error, use one of the following:
- Ensure the camera is on the same local network and not across VLANs/routed networks to start.
- If it is an older multi-sensor, before connecting to Avigilon, change Profile 1 MJPEG to H264 and lower the resolution to 1920x1080.
- If you are using a Wisenet 9 camera, use port 443 for connecting and use the WAN connection type. This should also be used if you see a black screen in the video panel for a camera.
- Sometimes you can change the client setting. From Avigilon Client, click the Gear icon, then Settings and change the server connection type from LAN to WAN.
- The error could be because the camera/device is not supported by Avigilon, like an NVR or the AIB-800 box. In this instance, ensure the cameras are running the latest firmware version and Avigilon is updated to the latest version.
Alternatively, you can create a new profile and set it to Edge Recording. This will allow you to increase the MJPEG profile's bit rate beyond 6Mbps. In the MJPEG profile, set the GOV Length to twice the frame rate (as ACC will automatically reduce it to 1), then, in ACC under Compression and Image Rate, lower the Image Quality to 6 or 8.
