Summary
This article describes the procedure to safely remove an SD card without damage to the card, and without losing any data.
Prerequisites
To safely remove an SD card, stop recording to the card. If you do not stop recording, you could lose data or damage the card.
Removing an SD Card
To safely remove an SD card:
- Log in to Cloud Portal.
- Navigate to OnCloud.

In the Cameras list, click the three-dot menu for the camera for which you want to remove the SD card, then click Camera Settings.

On the device page, click Storage, and confirm whether Enable Cloud Backup is switched on.
NOTE: Disabling recording and removing the SD card also disables Cloud backup. View how much video will not be backed up to the cloud by checking the Most
Recent Video timestamp. - Toggle Enable Edge Recording to Off.
- Navigate to the Tech Support page for the camera.
- Select Firmware and Downloads, expand Product Documentation, and download the manual.
- Follow the instructions in the manual for removing the SD card.
