Summary
This article explains how to reset your password when you have forgotten it or need to regain access to your account. You can do this yourself from the login page without administrator assistance.
If you know your current password and just want to change it, see Cloud Portal: How do I change my password?
NOTE: Password reset applies to standard accounts that sign in with an email and password. If you sign in with SSO (single sign-on), manage your password through
your organization's identity provider.
Resetting Your Password
To reset your password:
- Open the Login screen, enter your login ID, and click Continue.
-
On the Enter password screen, click Forgot password?
NOTE: If you already entered your email address on the login screen, it is carried over to the next screen automatically. You can edit it if needed. -
On the Forgot password screen, confirm the email address associated with your account and click Send Instructions.
You are returned to the login page and a reset email is sent.NOTE: For security, you can request a reset link only once per minute. If you request one again too soon, a message appears: Too many requests. Please try
again in a minute. -
Open the Reset password email and click Set new password.
IMPORTANT: The reset link is valid for 30 minutes and can be used only once. If the link has expired, return to the login page and request a new one. -
On the Setup your password screen, enter your new password twice, making sure it meets all of the listed requirements, then click Update password.
IMPORTANT: Your new password cannot be the same as your current password. -
Once your password is updated, you are returned to the login page and a confirmation email is sent to you. You can now use your updated login information to log in.
NOTE: If your account was locked, completing the password reset automatically unlocks it and restores it to Active. See Cloud Portal: Why is my account
locked, and how do I unlock it?
