Summary
The map in DesignPro has the DORI ON/OFF feature of the camera field of view (FoV). This article describes the information you can get with this feature.
DORI Overview
The DORI standard (Detection, Observation, Recognition, Identification) is an international standard. It is measured in pixel per meter, which represents the number of pixels within a one meter-wide segment at a specific distance from the camera. It is used for evaluating camera performance, defining four levels of detail based on Pixel Per Meter (PPM) or Pixel Per Foot (PPF). However, DesignPro provides the additional level of monitoring performance.
The four levels of DORI (DesignPro: 5 levels, 4+1) are:
- Monitoring (13 PPM/ 4 PPF): Just simple monitoring.
- Detection (25 PPM/ 8 PPF): The camera can reliably determine the presence of on object of person, although no details will be discernible.
- Observation (63 PPM/ 19 PPF): Offers more detailed information about an individual, like distinctive clothing, and provides context about activities.
- Recognition (12 5PPM/ 38 PPF): Allows the operator to recognize familiar individuals or vehicles and potentially see license plates.
- Identification (250 PPM/ 76 PPF): The highest level, enabling precise identification of individuals or specific features of an object with high confidence.
DORI ON/OFF on the Map
To turn on the DORI visualization:
- Drag the appropriate camera onto the map.
- Click the DORI UI on the map toolbar to change to a light red-colored background.
When a camera is dragged onto the map, it appears orange.
-
Click on the camera tab to select different colors.
The darkest color area is I (Identification), in the order of brightness, R (Recognition) → O (Observation → D (Detection) → M (Monitoring).
Each color creates a distinction between cameras. The triangle shows the different level of pixel density.
PPM calculation is based on the upper bound of the FoV at target distance. - Select a camera on the map.
- Hover the mouse inside the FoV beam to show the PPM value, distance, and horizontal width of the location.
- Click the Reports tab to export maps. The different color triangles will be included.
