Summary
The Play Sound feature in WAVE allows operators to avoid missing actions by triggering sounds on targeted devices. This article provides instructions for how to configure the Play Sound feature in WAVE.
Configuring Play Sound
Motion Detection Events
To configure for motion detection events:
- Open WAVE Client, then right-click the camera and select Camera Rules.
- In the Event section, select add and Motion on Camera for the When field. You also have the option to choose to play the sound when it Starts or Stops.
- Select the designated Camera Model to trigger a sound.
- Select Schedule to limit the time frame of the action.
- In the Action section, select Play sound for the Do field.
- Keep the at field blank.
Only select a camera if it supports two audio capabilities such as a microphone.
- If there is high foot traffic, increase the time value to minimize the number of alerts.
- Assign users and select the type of sound. Or click Manage to add a custom one.
- Click Test > Apply.
Analytic Events
To configure for analytic events:
- In the Event section, select Analytic Event for the When field.
- Select the Camera Model and Virtual line crossing as the Event Type.
(optional) Use the Caption and Description fields to enter or filter attributes or metadata provided by the analytic device.
IMPORTANT: If you are unsure, keep the Caption and Description fields blank.
Entries in these fields should match the corresponding fields in the HTTP
request and are case sensitive. If the field is empty, it will always be
considered a match.- Select Schedule to limit the time frame of the action.
- In the Action section, select Play sound for the Do field.
- Keep the at field blank.
