Applies to: WAVE
Issue Summary
When running the Rebuild Archive Index process, you may notice that not all footage is restored or visible on the Timeline, even though the data exist in storage.
If the rebuild process takes longer than expected or if some footage is missing from the Timeline after completion, the archive you are trying to re-index is likely a corrupted database.
Resolution
Before attempting to restore your files, ensure that the archive files and directories have not been moved or renamed. Any changes to an active directory that WAVE is writing to, without updating the corresponding storage settings for the server, can result in errors. Additionally, verify that you have sufficient free space on your storage drives. A full drive increases the likelihood of a corrupted database.
To restore archives:
- Log in to WAVE Client.
- Click the three-line icon in the top left corner and select System Administration.
- Click the Updates tab and update your system to the latest build of WAVE (if necessary).
Once the upgrade is complete, stop the WAVE Server.
Windows - In the Server Tray (lower right-hand side of your Windows Start bar), click the WAVE Client icon and select Stop Server.
Linux - Open Terminal and run the $sudo service hanwha-mediaserver stop command.
- Remove the corrupted database.
Windows - Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the directory for the affected archives. Look for a file that ends in sqlite and delete it.
Linux - Navigate to each drive. Look for a file that ends in sqlite and delete it.
NAS - Navigate to the /opt/hanwha/mediaserver/var directory. Look for the _media.sqlite file and delete it.
- Restart the WAVE Server.
Windows - Open the Server Tray again and select Start Server.
Linux - Open Terminal and run the $sudo service hanwha-mediaserver start command.
- Log in to WAVE Client as Administrator.
- Right-click the server and select Server Settings.
- Click the Storage Management tab.
Click Reindex Archive.
NOTE: During the rebuild process, the server can continue to record
and overwrite footage.Once the rebuild completes (which may take some time depending on the size of your archive), you will have a clean, reliable archive database, and all recorded video is visible on the Timeline again.
