Issue Summary

Sometimes, the live stream/playback of a camera cannot be initiated in the Genetec VMS, even though the Admin account operates normally.

This happens because the Genetec VMS cannot be used with the user account of Network Cameras due to Genetec VMS specifications.

When registering a camera with a user account, the following message is displayed: The provided user has insufficient permissions.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

1. Register the camera using only the Admin account in the Genetec VMS.
2. To restrict some camera functions, use the User Account Assignment feature in the Genetec VMS.
