Issue Summary
A Windows issue has been identified which causes the WAVE Client application to close and report an error with the video drivers on Qube Workstations. While Microsoft works on resolving these issues, there are steps we can take to improve the stability of the workstation.
Resolution
To resolve this issue:
- Update the workstation drivers.
- This is a link to Intel for video driver updates.
- This is a link for Intel's Driver and Support Assistant. Use this application to check for driver updates on chipsets and other Intel hardware.
- Bring Windows patches up to date.
- Configure the WAVE application for maximum graphics performance.
- Disable Windows Visual Performance features.
- Update WAVE to the latest version.
To maximize graphics performance:
- From the Start menu in the Operating System, search for Graphics Settings:
- In the Graphic settings, click Browse under Classic app and browse to the location of the WAVE client.
- Click Options.
- Select High Performance and click Save, then close the Graphics settings screen.
To disable Windows Visual Performance features:
- Use the Windows key and type: sysdm.cpl then press Enter to launch System Properties.
- Navigate to the Advanced tab and click on Performance -> Settings:
- Select Adjust for best performance, click Apply and OK.
Updating WAVE to the latest version

Navigate to the System Administration menu in WAVE. Select Updates -> Update to specific build.
NOTE: You will find the latest In-Client Build Number and Password at
this link: https://wavevms.com/release-notes. -
Click Download -> Install Update. WAVE will now update to the latest version.
