Issue Summary

The host machine has a working network connection, but cannot connect to the internet from the virtual operating system.

Resolution

Confirm the host machine's firewall is not blocking the internet access:

1. Temporarily turn off the firewall on the host machine and check the situation. 
   
   If the connection to the internet is active, than the VMware application has to be added to the firewall exceptions.
   
   
    
2. Reinstate the firewall protection.
