Summary
Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP) encryption is supported for most Hanwha units. However, you must be using the correct firmware and have the camera configured for HTTPS.
This article explains how to enable SRTP encryption for Hanwha cameras in Security Center.
NOTE: The following connection types are not supported for Hanwha SRTP-ready devices:
SRTP over Multicast
SRTP with RTSP over HTTPSPrerequisites
Before performing the steps in this article:
- Ensure encryption is supported
- Verify you are using the correct firmware
- Configure the camera for HTTPS
- Add a server certificate to the unit and enable HTTPS on the unit’s web page
Configuring HTTPS for Video Unit Extensions
To configure a self-signed certificate:
- In Config Tool, select the Archiver managing the camera and click the Extensions tab.
- Select the camera extension.
- In Advanced security settings, do the following (if required):
Turn on Allow unknown certificate authority to accept self-signed certificates.
Turn on Allow non-server certificates to accept non-server certificates.
Turn on Allow certificates with invalid subject name to accept certificates that do not have the IP address or hostname of the unit entered as the Subject name and Alternative name.
Turn on Allow certificates with invalid date to accept expired certificates.
- Click Apply.
If the camera was previously added to Security Center:
- From the Video task in Config Tool, select the unit to configure.
- In the Properties tab, ensure the Use HTTPS setting is selected.
- Configure the HTTPS Port (default is 443).
- Click Apply.
If the camera was not added to Security Center:
- From the Video task in Config Tool, click Add an entity.
- In the Manual add dialog box, complete the necessary settings to add the camera.
- Ensure the Use HTTPS setting is ON.
- Click Add.
