Summary

Improve the security of your WAVE Sync account and prevent unauthorized access by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Logging into an account with 2FA turned on requires a verification code generated by a mobile authentication app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Duo Mobile) in addition to your WAVE Sync password to be entered.

Setting Up 2FA

To set up 2FA:

1. Install Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Duo Mobile on your mobile device.
2. Open a browser and navigate to sync.wavevms.com.
3. Log in to the Wave Sync portal.
4. Select the Account Settings drop-down menu on the upper right of the browser window.
5. Select Security. 
   
   

6. Enable Two-factor authentication.
    

   NOTE: It is advised to generate backup codes in case you lose access to your 
   authenticator app.

7. Enter your WAVE Sync account password.

   A QR code displays.

8. Open the mobile authentication app on your phone.
9. Scan the QR code.
10. Enter the TOTP verification code generated by the mobile authentication app.
11. Click Verify.
