Prerequisites
Before registering a camera, make sure it supports the ONVIF protocol:
- Contact the manufacturer of your device and verify that your third-party camera supports the ONVIF protocol. In most cases, Hanwha Support does not have this information.
- Alternatively, you can download ONVIF Device Manager and use it to determine if your device works with ONVIF.
Registering a Third-party Camera
To register a third-party camera:
- Navigate to Setup > System Management > Settings on your NVR.
- Next to Camera registration method, uncheck Enable PnP Mode.
-
Navigate to Camera > Register.
WARNING: Popular brands of third-party cameras may be discovered using the Auto detect button. However, our Auto detect button is set to register a camera using our proprietary protocol by default, which will cause the camera to register but not work. - Click the Manual button.
-
On the Manual tab, enter camera details:
Select the ONVIF radio button for Protocol.NOTE: ONVIF requires the Time, Date, and Daylight Savings be synchronized between the NVR and the camera in question.Enter the IP address of the camera.
Set the ONVIF port to 80.
If the camera is a multi-channel camera, enter the Channel to register.NOTE: For third-party multi-sensor cameras, register each channel manually, on at a time.Enter the proper credentials for your camera.
NOTE: If your camera manufacturer requires separate credentials for ONVIF, enter those in the ID and Password fields. - Click Apply to begin the registration process
- Once you have finished registering all camera(s), click Ok to finalize the changes.
