Issue Summary
While merging two WAVE servers, a message sometimes appears stating that at least one server has the same ID as another in the WAVE hive. In Windows, this can only be corrected by entering the Windows registry. This event is caused by a duplicate GUID in the Windows registry.
Resolution
To resolve the issue:
- Hold Ctrl + R.
- Type services.msc then click Enter.
- Right-click Hanwha Media Server and select Stop.
- Hold Ctrl + R.

Type Regedit then click Enter.
IMPORTANT: Always export your Registry before performing steps like these. Proceed at you own risk. - Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hanwha\Hanwha Media Server.
- Double-click the serverGuid entry.
Delete the information in the Value Data field.
- Click OK to save the change.
- Navigate to https://guidgenerator.com/ and generate a new GUID.
- Enable the braces and hyphens options.
- Paste the output into the Value Data field.
- Go back to the Windows Services screen.

Right-click Hanwha Media Server and select Start.
