How to factory reset your NVR password

Applies to Models: ARN, QRN, XRN, PRN, and HRX series recorders

Summary:
This article covers resetting the credentials on an NVR and, if necessary, all of the setup information on the NVR.

NOTE : The credential reset procedure must be performed at the recorder with a monitor and mouse                      attached.

Step By Step Guide:

Resetting Credentials
    To reset the credentials:

1. Connect a monitor and a mouse directly to the recorder.
    NOTE: Make sure the display is working and shows the recorder screen.

2. Locate the small opening.
   NOTE: The location of the reset switch varies from model to model and is visible through the opening.

3. Push and hold the button for approximately 5 seconds until a message appears about entering a new        password.
      NOTE: Use a small wire or paperclip and push it through the opening. You should feel a soft click. Do                      not use excessive force.

4. Use your mouse and on-screen keyboard to set the new password.

Factory Reset
To factory reset the NVR:

1. Log in to the NVR as admin.

2. Click Settings at the top left.

3. Click System > System Management on the side menu.

4. Click the Settings tab.

5. Leave all of the Exception checkboxes unchecked.

6. Click Reset and confirm the warning message.
    The unit will make several loud beeps and proceed to reboot. You will be taken through the initial              Setup Wizard upon reboot.
