Suppose we have the following Queue management setup, with three queues named Orange1, Yellow2, and Green3.
The levels of detection for the queues are specified by the parameters [Maximum # of People], [High # of People] and [Medium # of People]. You will notice that the parameter for [Medium # of People] will adjust automatically as you manually calibrate the parameters for [High # of People] and [Maximum # of People].
Each queue may trigger two types of events based on the level of detection: [High event] or [Medium event]
For example,
[Orange1 – High] [Orange1 – Medium]
[Yellow2 – High] [Yellow2 – Medium]
[Green3 – High] [Green3 – Medium]
The number of people in a queue’s [High event] or [Medium event] follows this simple formula:
[Medium # of People] ≤ # of People in a queue’s [Medium event] < [High # of People] [High # of People] ≤ # of People in a queue’s [High event] ≤ [Maximum # of People] |
In our example,
[Medium # of People] = 2
[High # of People] = 4
[Maximum # of People] = 8
Therefore, the Number of people in a queue’s [Medium event] would be [greater than or equal to 2] and [less than 4], which equals 2 to 3.
The Number of people in a queue’s [High event] would be [greater than or equal to 4] and [less than or equal to 8], which equals 4 to 8.
The [Minimum duration] specifies the minimum number of seconds that a person must be present in a queue, for the data to be recorded in that queue’s [High event] or [Medium event].
We can now interpret the Queue management reports and graphs.
In the graphs and reports, [QueueName – Average] refers to the average count of people in the queue during the duration.
In the graphs and reports, [QueueName – High] or [QueueName – Medium] refers to the total minutes in which the number of people was equal to the amount specified by the formulas for the number of people in a queue’s [High event] or [Medium event].
In our example,
- [Orange1 – Average] on 3/17: represents the average count of people that were in Queue Orange1 on 3/17.
- [Yellow2 – Average] on 3/17: represents the average count of people that were in Queue Yellow2 on 3/17.
- [Green3 – Average] on 3/17: represents the average count of people that were in Queue Green3 on 3/17.
- [Orange1 – High] on 3/17: represents the number of minutes that there were 4 to 8 people in the queue Orange1 on 3/17.
- [Orange1 – Medium] on 3/17: represents the number of minutes that there were 2 to 3 people in the queue Orange1 on 3/17.
- [Yellow2 – High] on 3/17: represents the number of minutes that there were 4 to 8 people in the queue Yellow2 on 3/17.
- [Yellow2 – Medium] on 3/17: represents the number of minutes that there were 2 to 3 people in the queue Yellow2 on 3/17.
- [Green3 – High] on 3/17: represents the number of minutes that there were 4 to 8 people in the queue Green3 on 3/17.
- [Green3 – Medium] on 3/17: represents the number of minutes that there were 2 to 3 people in the queue Green3 on 3/17.
Please note that a queue’s [High event] or [Medium event] is triggered when the number of people specified have stayed in the queue for longer than the [Minimum duration] of 10 seconds.
