2. SMB (Server Message Block) Protocol?
- The Server Message Block protocol (SMB protocol) is a client-server communication
protocol used for sharing access to files or documents across nodes on a network of
systems running DOS or Windows. The SMB protocol can be used for printer/port/other
message sharing across PCs.
- Depending on the Windows OS version, you can update the version from SMBv1.0 to
the latest version, SMBv3.1.1.
3. Setting up the camera’s SMB connection to a NAS
- It is possible to set SMB Versions from 1.0 to 3.0 on a NAS.
- In order to link the camera, its SMB version must match with the NAS.
∙ Our cameras can support SMB v1.0 to v3.0 depending on the platform.
▶ Caution:SMB 1.0 is vulnerable to ransomware and other malware so that you need to pay special attention to security
4. Support for SMB Protocol versions in Windows
- Depending on the Windows OS, there may be SMB protocols disabled.
In that case, it is necessary to enable them manually.
