Description
Figure1. Alarm Port for PNV/PND-A6081R, PNB-A6001
- Most Hanwha Vision cameras have Alarm Out ports, as shown Figure1. This allows the camera to send a signal to an external device when an event occurs.

Figure3. Alarm Out Wiring Diagram of XNO/XNV-6120R user manual
- And the user manual of each product recommends configuring an External connection circuit as Figure2 and Figure3 according to the specifications of the alarm-out signal.
- However, it is very difficult for users to design and configure external connection circuits themselves.
- Therefore, I will explain how to easily configure the external connection using a relay module board.
※ Note
- The Relay Module Boards used in this topic are examples for illustration purposes only and we are not responsible for any issues that may arise while using them.
1. Select and get a relay module board
- The relay module board shown below can be purchased at various electronics stores.
Figure4. Commercial Relay Module Boards
- When selecting a relay module board, it is important to select the appropriate specification according to the use purpose and environment.
1) Input Voltage (VCC) specifications
- 3.3V, 5V, and 12V are commonly used to drive relay boards.
- The relay board below is labeled as using 5VDC for VCC.

2) Output specifications
- This represents the maximum electrical specification that the relay can withstand.
- The relay board below can be used up to 10A 250VAC / 15A 125VAC.

Figure7. Relay Module Boards Connection with Camera
- VCC : Connect the power to drive the relay to the VCC port on the relay module board. For the relay board in Figure 7, need to connect 5 volts.
- GND : Connect to the GND of the camera alarm port. And It also connects to the GND of the relay power source, which connects to VCC.
- IN : Connect to the camera's alarm out port.
