How to setup the E-mail function of NVR using Google Account?

Many customers want to use NVR's E-mail function to receive snapshots in the event of IVA(Intelligent Video Analytic), MD(Motion Detection) or OD(Object Detection)

When you use Google Account with the E-mail feature often results in setup failures due to the need for 2-step verification.

This document explains how to set up an E-mail setting for NVR when using a Google account.

Details

2-step verification is not supported in the NVR’s E-mail setting menu.

So, the first step is to create a password that can be used in the NVR.

After creating a Google Account app password, you need to set up an E-mail for NVR.

• Setup > E-mail > SMTP
• Important: enter the Port No “587” for Google TLS SMPT

• Setup > E-mail > Event

• Setup > E-mail > Recipient

For Event rule setting: Create rule -> Select the Event trigger -> Select the Event action > E-mail

Important: “check” the email Group

• Event > Event rule setup > Add > Create rule

Finally, the setup for receiving the event email is complete.

If all settings are successful, you can receive an email from NVR with a snapshot as shown below.
