Summary:
The article below covers information regarding painting or repainting a Hanwha camera. In many cases, a customer may request a camera to be painted to better blend into the surrounding environment, depending on the building/painting color, finish, etc.
Understanding Painting Options for Hanwha Cameras:
There are a few options available to custom-paint your camera.
Hanwha Custom Painting Service:
-
-
Hanwha offers a custom painting service for customers needing cameras with non-standard colored painted cases. The standard custom color is Black Matte.
- A minimum quantity of 25 cameras must be ordered on the PO. This can be a mix of quantities and models as long as the minimum number of units is met.
- As indicated above, accessories can be painted with a minimum order of 25 cameras.
- The lead time for custom-painted cameras using the standard color is five weeks.
- Standard colors are based on the RAL color chart.
- Custom color matching service allows a customer to provide the technical data sheet or a painted chip to match. Follow the RAL color chart in such cases. This service has an additional lead time & cost. Please contact Customer Service for more information.
- Custom-painted items can not be returned.
-
Re-painting Guidelines:
-
- Please refer to the attached documents as guidelines on disassembling the camera, protecting necessary components, and painting and reassembling the camera.
- For metal surfaces, paint with primer first for better paint adhesion.
- A white primer is recommended if your new paint color is brighter than the current color.
- Two coats of paint should be applied, waiting until completely dried.
- Gore valves should not be painted and care should be used to cover them during the painting process.
- Please note that product logos may be covered during the painting process.
- The serial number label should be carefully removed or covered during painting and then reapplied, ensuring that the correct serial numbers are reapplied to the same units.
- Do not disassemble the camera without reading the attached instructions first. If you do not follow the instructions, your camera could lose its waterproof capability and void its' warranty. Please note that Hanwha Vision is not responsible for any problems caused by
repainting due to a failure to follow these guidelines.
Cameras with Skin Covers:
- Another option to easily re-color a camera is to use models with a skin cover. These skin covers can easily change the camera's exterior color. In addition, these plastic skin covers can be easily re-painted without the hassle and expense of repainting the entire camera, requiring disassembly and protection of many components.
Warranty Support:
-
- Hanwha will warranty items that have been re-painted following the guidelines indicated in the attached documents as long as the items were not damaged due to the painting process or lack of adherence to the procedures.
- Custom-painted cameras are not eligible for Advance Replacements. Repair services will be offered. Hanwha will attempt to reuse existing painted parts, but in some cases, a new component may be needed, which will be provided in the standard factory color.
- If a camera needs to be replaced, a standard factory color unit will be provided without recourse.
