Summary:

Below article describes how to troubleshoot when NVR F/W upgrade via USB port fails.

Problem:

Firmware is not detected when USB Memory is searched as a device and there is a delay as shown below.

Solution:

When upgrading, the firmware on the USB is first copied to the HDD and then written to the memory.  Therefore, if there are no HDD installed, upgrade is not possible.

Install the HDD inside the NVR/DVR, confirm that the HDD is recognized normally, and try USB Upgrade.

*Check that the NO HDD icon is not displayed before upgrading the NVR/DVR Firmware
