Applies to: WRR-5301/5501
Issue Summary
This article describes troubleshooting procedures for when the WRR-5301/5501 does not boot correctly.
Resolution
If the WRR type server does not boot correctly:
- Enter the BIOS (keep clicking Delete during the boot process).
- Move the right arrow BIOS.
- Move the arrow to UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities and click Enter.
UEFI Boot Order likely shows Disabled. - Click Enter.
- Move the arrow to select Windows Boot Manager.
- Enable and click ESC.
The UEFI Boot Order #1 now says "UEFI Hard Disk:Wi..." - Move the arrow to Save and Exit.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to save and allow the appliance to reboot; it should be working again.
- After clicking Enter on UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities, the following screen appears.
The option for Windows Boot Manager is enabled. Click ESC and the UEFI Boot Order #1 now says UEFI Hard Disk:Wi... indicating it recognizes the Windows boot drive.
It will boot to the following when that drive is selected. If this is not the first time windows is started, it should be going to the standard desktop.
IMPORTANT: If this does not work, or the UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities
option is not there and still stuck at the Select Boot Device screen, perform
a cold boot/power cycle on the unit. Unplug completely, press Power a few times,
plug the system back in, and re-enter the BIOS. The UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS
Priorities option should be there under the boot tab now. If it is not, likely
the OS is corrupted and the M.2 OS drive will need to be replaced.
